Artist statement: This artwork juxtaposes two girls of the same age but vastly different geographical and socio-economic situations – a life of privilege compared with a life of child labour. We drink endless cups of tea without thought of who was involved in producing the tea or their circumstances. Fair trade is something close to my heart and I hope to raise awareness of this to help combat child slavery.
