Artist statement: I take my camera everywhere I go; it is my hobby, my passion, and my way of life. Of all the photos I have taken, I decided to submit this one as it holds a deep meaning to me. I am ready to share this photo with the public in the hopes that it will hold as much meaning to others as it does to me; it inspires me and makes me feel alive every day when I look at it.

The photo was taken on my very first DSLR, a Nikon D3100, with a 18-55mm lens attached and no flash on hand. I was at the Perth Royal Show in September of 2016, with a few of the best people I know, as the fireworks started. Fireworks exploded all around the sky lighting up a beautiful smoke screen, causing this burst of colour and mysterious silhouette of a young girl watching onwards.”
