Artist statement: This artwork explores the coming together of of cultures and communities, how we share our stories and histories around the camp fire with our ancestors looking over us. The aim was to achieve harmony and balance within the artwork to create a feeling of peace and to acknowledge our cultural heritage through the use of symbolic representation. Each of the circles around the camp fire represent a community coming together, passing on ancestral knowledge to the younger generation as a way to keep our culture alive.
