Artist statement: I have come to realise that as I am ageing, so are my grandparents – the people whom I have called parents when mine were out supporting the family. They are substantial figures in my life and continue to help me thrive and strive for the best possible future for myself. My piece celebrates my collectivist culture, but also depicts the ties I have with significant relatives.
