Artist statement: My artwork is a representation of a relationship that has developed over millions of years. The image connects with the audience by evoking a sense of harmony. Many species have evolved, whereas the bee has remained the same throughout many ecosystem changes. However, the effects of global warming have now created a major risk of extinction of the bee species, with the use of pesticides and our growing levels of pollution starting to mutate the genes. We should admire the bee’s beauty before it is too late.
