Artist statement: Change” is a commentary based work that revolves around Trump’s presidential inauguration, his beliefs and the resurrection of bygone statements due to their sudden importance. Social media in particular twitter influenced the making of this work and are featured within the work. His public statement about global warming is not only convoluted but abuses his position of power and presents illogical and dangerous views upon the subject. A prominent figure of power in modern society, the Commander in Chief of the world’s second largest nuclear arsenal presents an ill-advised, misplaced view upon global warming, perhaps a reflection of his true character. This work aims to capture the fantastical nature of a power figure, so oblivious to something so obviously important.
