Lipstick with Flowers

Artist statement: My painting explores how objects are linked with personal identity in relation to contemporary society. My artwork is an appropriation of a 16th century painting by Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder titled ‘flower still life’. The inclusion of the lipstick represents the masquerade of beauty that we, as humans, disguise ourselves behind.
